Commercial &
Institutional Buildings
Water is used in places where we work and play for a variety of purposes including drinking, toilets, cleaning, cooling and landscaping. More often than not, water is used once and discharged as sewage. In a world of rising water scarcity and water cost, this represents a potential conservation opportunity.
Our team makes the concept of circular water management a reality in offices, malls and other buildings. We work with building owners and managers to prioritise opportunities to make such facilities “Green and Blue” and generate a Return on Investment. Our compact solutions have been proven to fit into the built environment and set new benchmarks in sustainability.

Smart Water Management

Our team helped to develop Singapore’s first building level sewage recycling system at Cleantech Park. The system treats 15 m3/day of sewage from the building to a standard suitable for toilet flushing, cooling tower make-up and non-potable reuse.

They successfully demonstrated their robustness in catering to fluctuations in incoming used water, with 99% removal efficiency of organics and 6.5 log reduction of viruses. The treatment system minimises the footprint, critical for urban environment where space comes at a premium. It blends in the greenery on the building’s ground floor, creating a “Recycling Plant in a Garden” effect.

To enable the site to be operator-free, real-time information on system performance and automation are required. The Water SMART controller together with Mitsubishi Electric using Industrial Internet of Things (IoT) technologies.
