Island resorts face water scarcity, high cost of water from desalination and potential water pollution due to inadequate treatment of sewage generated. The Nexus team was engaged by the United National Development Programme to study and provide recommendations for island resorts off the east coast of Johor, Malaysia to become water sustainable.
We engaged local stakeholders to understand the challenges and provided options for such resorts to become water self-sufficient and lower the cost of water through demand management and expansion of sources through the integrated management of the water cycle.

Nexus Ecosystems Team was commissioned by Wildlife Reserves Singapore to study the water consumption patterns in the Singapore Zoo, Night Safari and River Safari. The team conducted a comprehensive review that highlighted considerable opportunities for water conservation and recycling. By working with the Wildlife Reserves Singapore team, we recommended tangible actions to enable it to achieve its long-term sustainability vision.
